Why Awesomely Awake?

Here at Awesomely Awake we take raising children seriously — but not so seriously that we forget to live a little. We believe that family time is the most important time of the day. We are all busy working and running around but at the end of the day — or maybe the start of the day — we owe it to ourselves and our children to come together for simple, peaceful and fun family moments so that we can all enjoy each and every day we have together.

We owe it to our children to show them how to fully live.

We call it being Awake. Feeling awake — or alive — as a parent allows us to feel every single moment of these precious days we have with our children.

Each week, we set a new intention and then show you a few ways you can invite that intention into your very busy life.

By doing this, we’re showing our children how amazing this life is that we are here to enjoy. Feeling awake — or alive — as a parent doesn’t let a day pass without a celebration, a meaningful moment, quality time, conversation or playtime. Feeling awake — or alive — as a parent is a simple process: We aren’t on our cell phones or the computers or even watching television most of the time. We’re having fun together, growing and learning together, laughing together. We learn as much as they do half the time!

As freethinkers, we also believe in the value of being an engaged, responsible community member and teaching our to ask questions, search for their own answers and take an active role in their own life rather than watch life unfold for others. We believe that it’s our duty to be informed citizens and to teach our children to be as well.

Welcome to a New World, one where we are the village that truly wants to be the change we wish to see in the world. Welcome to a New World, one where we, the Parents, give conscious thought to how we are raising the next generation.

We are the parents that are Awake and Alive for every single moment. We are the parents that get real, get messy, get playful.

We are the Parents who are Awesomely Awake.
